TV series to review Chinese revolution's 'Decisive Victory'
To celebrate the centennial of the founding of the Chinese Communist Party, a major serial TV drama on the Chinese revolution will broadcast through China Central Television, which is affiliated with China Media Group, at primetime on June 25.
Decisive Victory, co-produced by CMG and August 1st Film Studio, follows the history from August 1945 when China won the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression (1931-45) to the founding of New China in October 1949.
The production aims to unravel the CPC's victory in the War of Liberation through parallel narration of Party leaders and stories from renowned military commanders?as well as soldiers' perspectives from the frontline. The changing individual destinies are mixed with the grand social background.
Besides vivid portrayals of battlefields, the story of the war is also told through economic, social and diplomatic perspectives as well as its connection with ordinary people's lives in order to give a panoramic view of that pivotal epoch in recent Chinese history.
The series of 85 campaigns and battles during the war was included in Decisive Victory. Filming for the production took place in five provinces and municipalities on 570 filming sets. Artificial intelligence and 3D-modeling technology were also adopted for special effects.
