Suspect dead, nine hospitalized in U.S. Ohio State University shooting
WASHINGTON - One suspect in the Ohio State University (OSU) shooting was killed as at least nine people were injured, local media said Monday.
WCMH, a local TV station, cited police sources as saying the suspect involved in an active shooter situation on the campus of OSU is now dead, while nine victims are currently being treated.
The Columbus Fire Department was previously quoted as saying that at least one of the wounded was in critical condition.
OSU tweeted that "scene is now secure," and that "area around 19th and College Ave is closed."
The identity of the suspect and how the person was killed is unclear.
OSU tweeted earlier that an active shooter was on campus, telling students to "run, hide, fight." A large police presence was seen on the campus.
