A photo exhibit titled President Xi and America: Building Friendship with the American People since 1985 opened Tuesday at the Confucius Institute US Center in Washington. The US-China Policy Foundation (USCPF) will co-sponsor the display, which runs through Oct 9.
The photos include Xi's meetings with US President Barack Obama, former secretary of state Hillary Clinton and other American government officials when Xi was vice-president in 2012.
The exhibit, which coincides with Xi's first state visit to the United States this week, contains photos from his early life, youth and career in China; his exchange visit to Iowa in 1985; and subsequent trips to the US in 2006, 2012 and 2013. It also features photographs of Obama's official visit to China in 2014.
