YOKOHAMA, Japan - With one from Lionel Messi and two from Luis Suarez, FC Barcelona beat River Plate 3-0 to win the FIFA Club World Cup on Sunday, lifting their fifth trophy in 2015.
Messi opened the scoring for Barca in the 34th minute as the Argentine's left-foot shot from the center of the box hit the bottom corner following Neymar's fine head pass.
Suarez netted a one-on-one to give the European champions a 2-0 lead in the 49th minute after Sergio Busquets offered a pinpoint pass over the top.
The 28-year-old Uruguayan headed Neymar's pass home in the 68th minute.
