Big brother Peyton extends lead in Manning showdowns

Peyton Manning again beat younger brother Eli, throwing two touchdown passes to lead the Denver Broncos past the New York Giants 41-23 on Sunday.

The older Manning is unbeaten after three games against his sibling, with the other two victories coming when Peyton was with the Colts. He got Sunday's win with a huge boost from running back Knowshon Moreno, who rushed for two touchdowns and 93 yards. Denver (2-0) rushed for 109 yards in total.

Packers 38 Redskins 20

Aaron Rodgers threw for a career-high 480 yards and four touchdowns and the Green Bay Packers used a big first half against the Washington Redskins to win their home opener 38-20.

Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III threw for 320 yards and three second-half touchdowns, while Pierre Garcon had 143 yards receiving and a touchdown.

Chargers 33, Eagles 30

San Diego's Philip Rivers threw three touchdown passes to Eddie Royal and Nick Novak kicked a 46-yard field goal with seven seconds left, spoiling Eagles coach Chip Kelly's home debut.

Michael Vick threw for a career-best 428 yards and two TDs and ran for a major for Philadelphia.

At Chicago, Jay Cutler threw a 16-yard touchdown pass to Martellus Bennett with 10 seconds left to clinch the victory.

Minnesota's Blair Walsh had just kicked a 22-yard field goal with 3:15 remaining when Chicago took over at its 34. Cutler hit Bennett on a 23-yard pass along the sideline before connecting with Bennett again in the front corner of the end zone.

Alex Smith threw for 223 yards and two touchdowns, and the Chiefs defense held when it needed to in the fourth quarter at Kansas City. Jamaal Charles ran for 55 yards and caught a touchdown pass for the Chiefs.

At Houston, rookie DeAndre Hopkins caught a three-yard touchdown pass in overtime to cap the Texans' comeback win.

Rookie EJ Manuel hit Stevie Johnson for a two-yard touchdown pass with two seconds left to lead Buffalo to the win at home. The touchdown capped a nine-play, 80-yard drive in which the first-round draft pick completed 6 of 8 attempts for 51 yards.

Dolphins 24 Colts 20

Ryan Tannehill threw for 319 yards and one TD and the Dolphins defense held off yet another Colts comeback bid. Indianapolis lost at home for the first time in 12 months.

Falcons 31 Rams 24

At Atlanta, Julio Jones hauled in 11 passes for 182 yards, including an 81-yard touchdown as the Falcons held on for their first win of the season. Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan threw for 374 yards and two TDs.

Ravens 14 Browns 6

Down 6-0 at halftime, the Ravens took the lead on a five-yard run by Bernard Pierce with 5:13 left in the third quarter. Baltimore added a touchdown reception by rookie Marlon Brown with 8:77 remaining.

Other games

At Seattle, Marshawn Lynch ran for two majors and added a seven-yard TD catch in the second half as the Seahawks notched a 29-3 win over the San Francisco 49ers.

At Tampa, Garrett Hartley nailed a 27-yard field goal as time expired to give the New Orleans Saints a 16-14 comeback win over the the Buccaneers. Elsewhere, the Arizona Cardinals had a 25-21 home win over the Detroit Lions and the Oakland Raiders downed the Jacksonville Jaguars 19-9.
