MONGKOK, Thailand - With Muriqui's two goals, Guangzhou Evergrande got an easy 4-1 win over Muangthong United on Tuesday, moving ever closer to the final 16 in AFC Champions League (ACL).

"I am very happy with the match, my team played solidly, and we were concentrated through the whole match. The whole team tried their best," said head coach Marcello Lippi, who gave his praise especially to the Brazilian striker Muriqui. "Muriqui is an excellent player, who did every thing I told him to do."

With his two goals at first half, Muriqui scored in four straight match in Champions league this season, equaled Chinese legend Hao Haidong's record.

"I am happy to reach such a record. More important is that our team are now on the way of victory," Muriqui said after the match.

The Brazilian scored twice late in the first half before Sarawut Masuk reduced the deficit for Muangthong but goals from captain Zheng Zhi and Feng Xiaoting ensured the victory away from home.

Lippi's side consolidated their position by enjoying four points clear of Jeonbuk hyundai Motors and 6 points over Urawa Reds with two matches to play in group stage.

"We have a great chance to qualify, but we will do our best in every match, " Lippi said.
