Tiger Woods ads to be removed from Shanghai airport

Accenture's billboards and airport advertisements featuring Tiger Woods at the Shanghai Hongqiao Airport will soon be removed, the Beijing Star Daily reports.

The global consulting and outsourcing firm decided to end its sponsorship deal with Woods, saying the golfer is "no longer the right representative" after the "circumstance of the last two weeks."

Accenture's announcement on Sunday marks the company's first statement since allegations of Woods' marital infidelity surfaced in recent weeks. The blistering sex scandal has dealt a heavy blow to the billionaire athlete and father of two, who faces a tarnished reputation and substantial personal financial loss.

Accenture decided to break its ties with Woods out after sports drink brand Gatorade and personal care products maker Gillette pulled away from the golfer.

Woods has announced that he will take an indefinite break from golf to spend time with his family. Accenture, which has everything in its advertising campaign tied to Tiger Woods, said it could not afford to wait for what could be a long time before the golfer's return to the sport.
