Tianjin collects low-carbon ideas from children

Updated : 2014-07-29 By : Source : chinadaily.com.cn

The Summer Davos Forum and Tianjin Daily recently started a "making a commitment to low-carbon lifestyle" competition that encourages children to have innovative thinking on environmental protection.

Hoping to accelerate the growth of a green Tianjin, the contest is an approach through which people learn to preserve the environment in their youth.

The competition comes in two parts. One is a creative sector where kids between the ages of 3-15 submit artworks for display. The other is a physical action plan where participants commit themselves to environmental preservation. The 100 finalists will each receive a customized QR code, to show the world what they have done.

The QR codes will be shown on a collage wall during later Summer Davos Forum events.

As previous Summer Davos Forums have testified, Tianjin has been adhering to a low-carbon development.
