Chinese traditional medicine and Xinjiang ethnic-featured medicine products, such as the traditional Uygur medicine Zukamu, which is used as a cold remedy, attracted attention at the exhibition. The sales of such products are expected to skyrocket in the coming year.

Representatives from companies based in Xinjiang were taken on a trip to Yunnan Baiyao Museum and Kunming Institute of Botany, Chinese Academy of Sciences to learn about their development and explore potential areas of cooperation.

“Health care enterprises in our zone should seize the opportunities the Belt and the Road development program brings us and accelerate oversea trading and cooperation with Central Asia countries,” said Huang Jian, deputy director of the Urumqi High-tech Industrial Development Zone.

This year marks the 16th time that the zone has participated in the international pharmacy exhibition. This year’s event covered 90,000 square meters and hosted more than 2,000 health care enterprises. More than 35 activities were held to explore and analyze the development of China’s health industry.
