Former senior legislator investigated for graft

BEIJING -- Wang Sanyun, vice chairman of the Education, Science, Culture and Public Health Committee of the 12th National People's Congress, has been put under investigation on suspicion of accepting bribes.
The Supreme People's Procuratorate announced Saturday in a statement that Wang has been put under "coercive measures," which may include summons by force, bail, residential surveillance, detention and arrest.
He was expelled from the Party and dismissed from public office for actions including accepting bribes, according to the Communist Party of China Central Commission for Discipline Inspection on Sept 22.
