Christmas came early for photography buffs in Wuxi last week as three photo exhibitions opened at Wuxi Museum and Wuxi Library on the same day.

The museum hosted an opening ceremony for the three exhibitions on Nov 25, with some 400 photographers and photography enthusiasts taking part.

The three events bring together some 450 photographs documenting the natural scenery, local customs and daily life of residents in the regions around Taihu Lake, the huge freshwater lake in Jiangsu province.

The three exhibitions have attracted a lot of attention from local residents and amateur photographers alike.

"The photographs on show demonstrate the high standard of photography we have in Wuxi today," said one professional photographer.
