The 3rd Taihu International Buddhist Tourism Culture Exposition will be held at the Wuxi Taihu International Expo Center in Wuxi from Oct 23 to Oct 26.
Themed as "Buddhist culture along the Belt and Road Initiative (two ancient trading routes)", the exposition is expected to attract more than 1,200 exhibitors and 100,000?visitors this year.
The highlights of the display will include 171 pieces of well-preserved pattra-leaf scriptures provided by folk collectors, which were said to be brought by Xuan Zang, a noted Buddhist monk during the Tang Dynasty (618-907). He had made an arduous journey to India to study Buddhism. These pattra-leaf scriptures are listed as "Level I" artifacts due to their great cultural relic value in the research of Buddhist culture.
Several projects will be showcased during the four-day exhibition, including photography shows, art exhibitions and entertainment performances.
After the exposition, the organizer will also launch a special Buddhist journey along the ancient Silk Road for cultural exchange.
