China-Cambodia emergency rescue hotline, a maritime cooperation between the two countries to assist each other with sea rescues, was launched in Zhanjiang on Oct 31.
Now, departments of maritime rescue in China and Cambodia can communicate via 24-hour instant messages, voice and video chats, which will enable fast and efficient emergency response and maritime rescue.
Riding the tide of the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road, the move serves as a foregoer of the emergency rescue hotline projects between China and ASEAN and is of great importance for the two parties in cementing cooperation in maritime rescue.
The launch ceremony also witnessed the signing of China-Laos emergency rescue hotline and the launch of China-ASEAN Maritime Rescue Information Platform.
Attendees at the launch included He Jianzhong, deputy director of Ministry of Transport, and representatives from the Philippines, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Burma and Brunei.
