Pingtan sends Fujian's first cross-border E-commerce purchase order
Workers are packaging the goods after customs examination.

Two E-commerce enterprises, Dinodirect.com and Quanmai.com completed the customs clearance procedure and sent Fujian's first cross-border E-commerce purchase, which could be directly transported to Taipei within 2.5 hours . This marks the official launch of Pingtan’s cross-border E-commerce services

At the same time, the launching ceremony of Fujian's cross-border E-commerce pilot city was held in Pingtan, Fujian province, on Nov 5 Ding Jizhu, deputy director of Pingtan’s management committee, said that Pingtan launching the cross-border E-commerce trade has promoted the E-commerce online transaction and the Cross-Strait communication and development.

It provided a platform for small-and-medium sized enterprises (SMEs) to enjoy the subsidy policies of foreign trade, and benefited the customers by reducing the good's price through the settlement of exchange and tax rebates, said Zhang Xuan, deputy director of Fuzhou customs’ supervision department.

E-commerce enterprises, logistics enterprises and payment enterprises can go through the formalities with the declaration of monthly goods for exportation collected through Pingtan's cross-border E-commerce comprehensive service platform.

Besides, a new supervision model combining online and offline works will help increase the clearance efficiency and strengthen the supervision.

Pingtan was approved to launch the cross-border E-commerce pilot project on Jan 2, 2014, and became China’s sixth city to launch the project.

As the closest city to Taiwan on the mainland, Pingtan enjoys a big transportation convenience and has opened the Pingtan-Taiwan fast transportation route.

Pingtan is the key for the collaboration between Fujian and Taiwan and is a window of China's opening up, said Chinese President Xi Jinping. It was encouraged to grasp the developing opportunity, and to accelerate the transformation and upgrading by promoting the development of cross-border E-commerce trade.
