A book based on interviews with scientists including Nobel Prize winner Tu Youyou about the research and development in Chinese medicine won the 11th Wenjin Book Award on April 23, along with nine other titles.

The Wenjin Book Award, named after Wenjinge, or the "chamber of literary tastes", one of China's most renowned imperial libraries, is the top book prize in China.

Started by National Library of China, and first given in 2005, the award is for the best books published in the previous year in three categories — children's books, social sciences and popular science.

The winners were announced at the National Library of China.

The books include Laozi Yi Du (An interpretation of Taoist founder Lao Zi by former librarian of NLC Ren Jiyu); Interviews on the 523 Mission and the Research and Development of Artemisinin, Oral History by Zhou Youguang about the Last 100 Years; From Fish to Human; Instellar; My Father's Paintings and These Are the 24 Solar Terms.
