The recent popularity of the hit South Korean television drama, My Love from the Star has had a big influence on the actions of its Chinese audiences.

The drama has not only boosted sales of fried chicken and beer across the country, but now books that appear in the drama are becoming popular pillow books, such as The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane, which can be seen in the study of the male lead actor, and is now a hot seller in Nanjing.

The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane is a children's book written by American writer Kate DiCamillo and tells the story of a china rabbit named Edward Tulane. Since the book was seen in the drama, it has experienced massive sales at bookstores and even once ran out of stock on many online bookstores.

"The book was first imported in 2007 and the total amount of the sales reached just around 500 copies. But recently it has sold over 100 copies and inventory is selling out," one employee from Nanjing Xinhua bookstore said.

Moreover, the drama frequently mentions the Biography of Women in Ancient China and Strange Tales of Liaozhai, two Chinese ancient books which have raised heated discussions online.
