CHANGSHA - Six government officials in Central China's Hunan province have been removed from their posts over sex scandals.

Discipline inspection authorities in Hengyang City decided on Monday to remove Zhao Anmin from his post as the head of the city's health bureau and deputy secretary of the bureau committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC).

Other sacked officials include Yin Wen, vice president of the Changning City committee of Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), Kang Junliang, vice president of the Hengshan County committee of the CPPCC, Duan Dinghua, head of Leiyang City Forestry Bureau, Shi Dongsheng, head of Leiyang City's tourism authority and Liu Honghan, secretary of the committee of Leiyang City Development and Reform Bureau of the CPC.

The six officials have been transferred to discipline inspection and public security offices for further investigation.

According to local authorities, a criminal gang of six people, including two females, seduced leading cadres to have sex with the females and used hidden cameras to record the acts for extortion.

From May to November in 2010, the six officials fell for the conspiracy and were blackmailed by the gang, which was later busted by the public security bureau.
