World poets gather for 5th Mid-Autumn party

The 5th Mid-Autumn International Original Poetry Reading Party will be held at the China Millennium Museum from 7 pm on Tuesday in Beijing.

With “Poetic China” as the theme, the party will feature renowned poets from home and abroad reading their works to express their hope for a peaceful world.

It will be the first time the event to feature student poets from the State University of New York, Peking University and 14 other world-renowned colleges. More than 30 poets, Sinologists and musicians from Iran, the US, Russia, the Republic of Korea and the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Macao will attend the event.

The annual poetry reading event started in 2009 with an emphasis on originality.

It is one of the key events of the 6th Beijing “Moon over the Lugou Bridge” Mid-Autumn Culture activities, which are organized by the Capital Civilization Office, Beijing Bureau of Culture and other institutions.

In addition to the Lugou Bridge Scenic Area and Beijing International Garden Expo in Fengtai district, Jingshan Park, Beihai Park and other parks in urban area will organize activities during the festival.
