China to beef up anti-corruption co-op with Poland

(Xinhua) Updated: 2012-06-26 17:51

BEIJING - A senior official of the Communist Party of China pledged on Tuesday to boost exchanges between the discipline inspection departments of China and Poland.

He Guoqiang, a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Central Committee Political Bureau, made the remarks while meeting with Jacek Jezierski, president of the Polish Supreme Chamber of Control.

"The Chinese government is ready to cement cooperation with other countries and local governments, including those of Poland, to fight against corruption," said He, who is also secretary of the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection.

Hailing the progress of China-Poland ties, He said the establishment of a strategic partnership last year has boosted bilateral relations to a new level.

"China hopes to further strengthen political trust, substantial cooperation and personnel exchanges with Poland on the basis of mutual respect, equality and mutual benefit," he said.

He also briefed the guest about China's anti-corruption efforts, as well as the country's economic and social development and its preparations for the 18th CPC National Congress to be held later this year.

Jezierski spoke highly of China's achievements in developing its economy and fighting corruption. He said Poland will further facilitate cooperation with China in combating corruption.

Jezierski is visiting China at the invitation of the Ministry of Supervision.
