When the door closes, God opens a window. This sentence has encouraged Wang Hui to lead a courageous life with his hands and perseverance.

Wang Hui is a craftsman of stone carving, who lost his legs in an accident at the age of 4. Overcoming despair, he has learned to walk with a chair, completing his primary and middle school education.

With encouragement from his family, Wang started learning to carve stone in 1989 and gradually grasped the skill. He started a sculpture store in 1993 after overcoming a lot of hardships.

With his successful business, Wang established his own family by marrying his wife, a former pharmacy worker, who now helps the family business.

Today, he owns three sculpture stores and a small processing factory, and even opened up the international market.

However, Wang is more than merely doing business for himself. Instead he has always advocated social responsibility. He and the local association for the handicapped co-held a charity sale event and donated some of the earnings after the 2008 earthquake in Wenchuan, Sichuan province. In addition, Wang has been training handicapped and laid-off people free of charge, helping them live on their own. "I hope what I have done can let them live in dignity," he said.
