BEIJING - Japanese Foreign Minister Matsumoto Takeaki is to pay an official visit to China from July 3 to 4 at the invitation of his Chinese counterpart Yang Jiechi.
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Hong Lei made the announcement in a press release here on Friday.
During the visit of Matsumoto Takeaki, Yang will hold talks with him and exchange views on China-Japan relations as well as other regional and international issues of common concern, according to the spokesman.
It will be the first visit to China by the Japanese foreign minister since he took office in March this year.
