Chinese celebrity award partners with US producers
BEIJING?-- China's Huading Awards, which take audience votes to honor the country's most acclaimed entertainment celebrities, are seeking global influence by partnering with Don Mischer Productions, one of the United States' leading production companies.
Don Mischer, an Emmy Award-winning producer and director of television and live events, will lead the American team to produce the stage show for the awards' upcoming ceremony in Macao in October, Wang Kun, secretary-general of the awards, said on Friday while announcing the establishment of the partnership.
The awards, launched in 2007, have been given to actors, actresses and directors, such as Jackie Chan and Tony Leung, as well as celebrities from other genres of entertainment. From May 2014, ceremonies will be held in more countries including the United States, Republic of Korea and Britain.
"I am thrilled by this opportunity to open up a fresh pathway of collaboration between East and West," Mischer said.
"Every day, entertainment is becomingly increasingly global. Together, we can expand the impact of the Huading Awards in a powerful new way for audiences."
