A total of 110 Chinese companies have entered the 2016 Fortune Global 500 list this year, rising from 106 last year, according to the list released on Wednesday.
US retail giant Wal-Mart Stores Inc topped the list, with three Chinese companies- State Grid Corp of China, China National Petroleum Corp and Sinopec Group- rounding out the top 4.
The Fortune Global 500 is a benchmark annual ranking of the largest 500 companies worldwide as measured by total revenue.
12 Chinese companies debuted on the list this year, including Beijing-based e-commerce giant JD.com Inc in the technology sector, China's biggest home appliances Midea Group Co Ltd and the country's largest residential developer China Vanke Co Ltd.
