HONG KONG - Hong Kong Watch & Clock Fair opened Wednesday, attracting more than 720 exhibitors from 12 countries and regions.
According to the organizer Hong Kong Trade Development Council, the fair welcomes 73 buying missions representing more than 3,000 buyers from 64 countries and regions.
Brand Name Gallery in the fair shows 125 brands from 14 countries and regions, such as Hush Puppies, which is rolling out its 10th anniversary watch, Hong Kong's Memorigin, which is introducing its tourbillon watches and local brand Zerone, which is unveiling its "Zerone and 5+1" collection.
The fair's World Brand Piazza features rare timepieces from 12 major brands. One of the watches sells for more than HK$16 million ($2.06 million).
The winners and finalists of the 29th Hong Kong Watch & Clock Design Competition are also on display.
In addition, the fair presents a variety of special activities, including conferences, product launch events, watch parades and seminars.
HKTDC said Hong Kong is the world's second-largest watch and clock exporter by value, exporting $5.3 billion worth of timepieces, parts and components from January to July this year, up 13.5 percent over the same period last year.
The fair runs through September 9 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center.
