As many as 4,700 new planes are expected to be delivered to Chinese airlines in the next 20 years, the Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China Ltd (COMAC) said in its market forecast on Sept 21.

The deals will be worth over $500 billion based on 2011 price catalogues, COMAC said.

China's passenger fleet is to make up 15 percent of the world's total 36,000 planes by 2030, up from the current 9 percent.

COMAC expects the global plane deliveries to exceed 30,900 in the following 20 years, worth $3,700 billion, most of which will be single-aisled jet planes.

COMAC also forecasts that global passenger traffic (RPKs) will increase at a rate of 4.9 percent annually over the next 20 years.
