SOFIA - A delegation from China's largest producer of locomotives and coaches is in Bulgaria to explore investment opportunities.

Tang Kelin, executive director and vice president of CSR Corporation Limited, said on Monday that the main purpose of the visit is to investigate the Balkan country's railway system.

Tang said there are many opportunities for cooperation between the CSR and relevant entities. "We hope this visit will be very fruitful and we can find out what aspects we can invest."

Tang said the visit was a result of his meeting with Bulgarian Transport Minister Aleksandar Tsvetkov in Beijing last year, where they discussed investment opportunities in production and maintenance of locomotives and coaches.

"We can say that now Bulgaria is the best investment location in Europe," Tsvetkov told reporters.

"Our country offers the lowest taxes, and we are part of the European market. The fact that Chinese investors are interested in particular in production in Bulgaria is indicative of this," Tsvetkov said.
