China's top economic planner has asked liquor manufacturers to stabilize prices for the second time in a year, the Nanfang Daily reported on Sept 27.

The National Development and Reform Commission held an informal discussion with the China Alcoholic Drinks Industry Association (CADA), Kweichow Moutai Co Ltd, Wuliangye Co Ltd, Sujiu Group Co Ltd, Luzhoulaojiao Co Ltd, and Gujing Co Ltd on Sept 16, asking them to stabilize the liquor market and ensure supplies without raising prices.

It also asked liquor makers to further manage their retailers.

The CADA suggested that liquor makers obey the China price law, voluntarily regulate prices, refrain from hoarding products, spread messages about the price hike, or collude to raise prices together, the association said in an article published on its website.

The NDRC had asked liquor companies to block prices in March this year.
