Chinese carmaker Seres Group has set a goal to scale up its annual sales to hit at least 1 million units by 2027, more than double its sales in 2024.

Seres Group Chairman Zhang Xinghai revealed the ambition up in a New Year message on Thursday to all employees titled "Pursuing One Goal to the End".

He emphasized the company's commitment to the "software-defined vehicle" strategy, aiming to redefine luxury through intelligent innovation.

Zhang highlighted that 2024 was a milestone year for Seres, marked by transformative achievements.

The company achieved annual sales of 426,900 new energy vehicles, representing a 180 percent year-on-year growth and significantly surpassing its targets.

The AITO brand, codeveloped with Huawei, has established itself firmly in the luxury car segment, with the flagship M9 leading as the best-selling model priced above 500,000 yuan ($72,995) in the Chinese market.

Over the year, 150,000 units of the M9 were delivered, along with 200,000 units of the M7.
