Shanxi slopes thrive with winter tourism buzz
As the new ice and snow season begins, various regions across Shanxi province have come alive with winter tourism.
The Guangwu International Ski Resort in Shanyin county, Shuozhou city, has welcomed many skiers since its opening in late November.
The resort boasts 16 competition-level ski slopes, the longest of which exceeds 2 kilometers. It is the largest and most well-equipped ski resort in Shanxi, receiving around 80,000 visits every ski season.
"This winter season, we will undergo comprehensive renovations and upgrades," said Wu Tao, general manager of the resort. "A new V-PARK terrain park will be constructed to enhance the experience of skiing enthusiasts and ignite their passion for ice and snow."
Fan Chongyuan, a 22-year-old skier from Shanxi's Yuncheng, makes the resort his first choice every winter.
"Skiing at the foot of the Great Wall makes me deeply feel its greatness while experiencing the fun of skiing," he said. "I hope skiers from all over the country can make friends and share experiences at the resort."
