"Hi sir, this socket cannot be put directly on the ground and it needs to be placed far away from a fire source. You must pay attention to electrical safety," said a staff member of the State Grid Jinhua Wucheng branch while checking hidden dangers around various stalls in the downtown Jingu night market recently.

Although summer is coming to an end, the temperature in Wucheng district, Jinhua city, East China's Zhejiang province remains very high so that the Jingu night market, a symbol of the night economy there, is very popular. Many people visit the night market when the temperature falls down to avoid the heat during the daytime, looking for delicious food. While the night economy is hot, electrical equipment there also faces a test due to high temperatures and high loads.

In order to ensure safety of the Jingu night market, the State Grid Jinhua Wucheng branch carried out an all-around inspection and temperature measurement for electrical equipment there.

To ensure the normal operations of stalls, the State Grid Jinhua Wucheng branch staff conducted a comprehensive inspection of the power transmission lines, repaired the damaged insulation layers and tightened loose connectors to ensure that each line is in the best condition.

They also used professional equipment to clean power distribution facilities to prevent failures caused by dust, moisture and other factors. At night, the staff used handheld infrared detection equipment to monitor key parameters such as temperature and load of electrical equipment in real time.

Plug boards, power sockets, lighting devices were the focus for inspection. As a result, they identified six hidden dangers.

In addition, the staff distributed 42 copies of electricity safety brochures to stall owners and explained to them related knowledge.

"While conducting safety checks, we also asked businesses to turn off unnecessary landscape lights to save power consumption and reduce costs," said Xing Jiayuan of the State Grid Jinhua Wucheng branch.

Furthermore, the Wucheng branch will carry out similar inspections in many places such as People's Square night market, Jiangbei night market, Sanlukou night market and the night market near the North Gate of Zhejiang Normal University. Staff will also promote energy conservation, provide regular guidance and training for merchants on electricity consumption and solve various problems they may encounter in the future in a timely manner.
