Premier Li Qiang arrived on Thursday in Minsk on an official visit to Belarus after wrapping up his visit to Russia, saying that China will join hands with the Eurasian country to better synergize development strategies and deepen mutually beneficial cooperation.

Speaking upon his arrival, Li said the friendship between the peoples of China and Belarus has enjoyed a long history with bilateral ties gaining rapid development over the past 32 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations.

In recent years, the China-Belarus relations have continued to improve and have been upgraded into an all-weather comprehensive strategic partnership under the personal guidance of both presidents, he said.

In July, the two heads of state further provided strategic guidance and charted the future course of bilateral ties when they held a meeting on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit in Astana, Kazakhstan.

Li said that political mutual trust between the two countries has been consolidated, Belt and Road cooperation has been advancing with solid results, people-to-people exchanges have been increasing and coordination in global affairs has been effective.

China is willing to share development opportunities with Belarus and achieve more practical results in bilateral cooperation so as to benefit the two peoples and contribute to regional and world peace, stability and development, the premier said.
