The website of the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council now includes new sections on the lawful punishment of die-hard "Taiwan independence" separatists.

The new sections, which appeared on Wednesday, comprise five parts, including a list of "Taiwan independence" diehards, statements from spokespersons and legal documents.

They list 10 die-hard separatists: Su Tseng-chang, You Si-kun, Joseph Wu Jau-shieh, Hsiao Bi-khim, Koo Li-hsiung, Tsai Chi-chang, Ker Chienming, Lin Fei-fan, Chen Jiauhua and Wang Ting-yu.

Su and You are former chairmen of the Democratic Progressive Party. Wu is a former head of external affairs, and Hsiao is the deputy head of the island. The rest are all current or former senior officials of the island's independence-touting authorities.

The sections also provide a tip-off mailbox, jubao@suremail.cn, for the gathering of information on the listed separatists' criminal activities and clues on any new die-hard "Taiwan independence" separatists suspected of serious offenses.

The websites also present the legal foundation for such actions, particularly the Anti-Secession Law and the guidelines for imposing criminal penalties on die-hard "Taiwan independence" separatists for engaging in or inciting secession. The guidelines were jointly issued by the Supreme People's Court, the Supreme People's Procuratorate, and the ministries of public security, State security and justice in June.

In August 2022, the Taiwan Work Office of the Communist Party of China Central Committee issued a statement announcing the inclusion of Hsiao, Koo, Tsai, Ker, Lin, Chen and Wang on a list of die-hard "Taiwan independence" separatists and the imposition of punitive measures against them.

They joined Su, You and Wu, who were already on the list following sanctions in November 2021.
