China willing to share development opportunities with the world

The resolution of profoundly advancing reform and opening-up raised by the third plenary session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China has sent a strong signal to the world that China would like to share its development opportunities with the world, and a better China will benefit the world, said scholars during an academic salon with media held on Tuesday in Shanghai.

"Along with the advancement and deepening of reform and opening-up, new quality productive forces will be an important driver of the economic growth, and pave the way for the establishment of modern industry system," said Zhang Zhaoan, a counselor of the Shanghai Municipal People's Government during an academic salon on readings of third plenary session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China concluded on Thursday.

"The development of Chinese modern industry, which is based on technological innovation and driven by advanced manufacturing, modern service and modern agriculture, will inspire new economic vitality and release huge potential," said Zhang, who is also former vice-president of the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences.

Li Wei, dean of the graduate school with the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences believed China's further economic development will be driven by industries from four categories, which are the industries where China enjoys an advantageous position, strategic and emerging industries, innovated traditional industries, as well as the rapidly cultivated future industries.

While pursuing high-quality development and enhancement, China will put quality employment on a prioritized position, said Wang Yi, deputy director of the Information Research Institute with the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences.

According to Wang, despite the existing pressure in employment, the overall employment is following a positive trend, and latest job enrollment data showed that the unemployment rate is shrinking.
