S?derberg leads, Waring and Migliozzi on the hunt for the weekend Volvo China Open action
The excitement at the Volvo China Open continued on Friday with the second round of play. The weather cooperated once again, providing excellent course conditions for playing and spectating.
Sebastian S?derberg finished the round as the sole leader, scoring sixteen under par. Paul Waring came in second, ending the day at thirteen under par. Guido Migliozzi secured third place with a score of twelve under. In a three-way tie for fourth place at eleven under are Gordon Brixi, Adrian Otaegui and Joel Girrbach.
Sixty-eight players have advanced to the weekend rounds, having made the cut at three under par.
In the morning round, Sweden's Sebastian S?derberg continued his dominant play from Thursday, posting a score of seven under. On Friday's performance, he shared: "It's been two very good days, but we're halfway through the tournament and, as soft as it is, it's very score-able. I think the challenge is that you have to hit it quite straight off the tee. I wouldn't say I'm too relaxed, but it's a nice position to be in."
Having achieved back-to-back second-place finishes during the Asian swing, his confidence is currently high. However, as he approaches the weekend, he remains committed to staying present and positive. "I feel very confident. The pressure is a lot higher when we're leading heading into the weekend. Keeping my emotions in check is important, and being in this position for a few weeks is going to help me, hopefully," S?derberg said.
