Hotel éclat Beijing, a small luxury hotel known for its museum-quality artwork collection, launched a limited mooncake gift box featuring the artwork Dreamy Rabbit by Icelandic-Chinese artist Eirdís Ragnarsdóttir, on Friday to celebrate the upcoming Mid-Autumn Festival that falls on September 29 this year.

An outcome of Ragnarsdóttir’s artistic residency at the hotel in July, Dreamy Rabbit features a blue cuddly rabbit sitting against a psychedelic, surreal backdrop.

Remarking it as the cutest painting she has ever created, the artist borrowed inspiration from the Chinese folk legend in which a rabbit selflessly sacrifices itself to an old man, who later reveals himself as the Jade Emperor (God of the Heaven) and sends the rabbit to the moon palace out of gratitude.
