China has had six of its cities placed on a list of wealthiest cities for 2023, according to a report jointly released by citizenship brokers Henley＆Partners and wealth intelligence firm New World Wealth.

New York City took first place as the city with the most millionaires, and its high-net-worth-individual population with investable wealth of $1million (6.89 million yuan) or more reached 340,000.

Among of China's six cities on the list, the high-net-worth-individual population in Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Hangzhou and Guangzhou surged 70 percent, 72 percent, 98 percent, 105 percent and 86 percent year-on-year, respectively, while the figure in Hong Kong decreased 27 percent year-on-year.
