Digital China Summit starts up in Fuzhou

The sixth Digital China Summit kicks off today in Fuzhou, capital of East China's Fujian Province.

Li Shulei, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, delivered a keynote speech at the opening ceremony.

Held under the theme of promoting modernization and elevating construction of Digital China, the summit will showcase the latest achievements in China's digital construction and share its digital development experience.

The two-day summit consists of several sections, including a main forum and 20 sub-forums in multiple fields like the Digital Silk Road, data resources, digital government , artificial intelligence and an innovation contest.

As part of the summit, an exhibition was held from April 26 to 30 to put China's achievements in digitalization on display. The exhibition has brought in 320 government departments, enterprises and institutions from 28 provinces, cities and regions to participate.

The 5-day exhibition includes sections on digital infrastructure, digital economy, digital society, and digital technology innovation. New technologies and products in 5G, blockchain and artificial intelligence were also unveiled at the exhibition.

The summit has been successfully held in Fuzhou for six consecutive sessions. Since 2018, the summit has led to nearly 2,000 digital economy projects being signed and implemented, with total investment of more than 1.3 trillion yuan ($187.79 billion).
