New era in China: Expat from Belarus talks about cultural heritage protection in Liaocheng

Hanna Ahapitava, from Belarus, has lived in Liaocheng, East China's Shandong province, for four years. She currently works at Liaocheng University.
Liaocheng is a nice city with friendly people and lots of delicious dishes, and the city boasts many elements of intangible cultural heritage, according to her. For instance, the city is doing its best to preserve the Chinese gourd carving arts, which is part of Chinese cultural heritage and has a history of more than 500 years in Dongchang district of the city.
