Traditional New Year pictures on display

An exhibition of traditional Chinese New Year pictures across the country opened at the Guangdong Museum on Tuesday to usher in the Spring Festival holiday.
More than 300 pictures and woodblocks used for making the pictures came from museums and publishers in six provinces and Tianjin municipality.
New Year pictures are traditionally bought and displayed in homes to celebrate the Chinese Lunar New Year.
The exhibition is themed on people, life, customs and stories. It also displays the techniques for making such pictures, which includes woodblock printing and a combination of woodblock printing and painting. The exhibition will run until March 29.
